HIKING IN THE MOUNTAINS ABOVE MÁLAGA

Day 1 – Arrival

Day of arrival, the vacation begins! We provide a personal transport service from Málaga airport to our B&B. Upon arrival we’ll have an introductory chat with a welcome drink & snack. After that you can peacefully explore and discover our B&B and its surroundings. If you’re already in the mood for a little hike then you can already go for a short 3,5 km looped walk.

Day 2 – Camino Mozárabe – Stage 2 Junta de los Caminos – Almogía

12,2 km ★ 350 altimeters

Loosen the legs with a part of the famous pilgrimage route Santiago de Compostella from Puerto de la Torre (Junta de los Caminos) to our Almogía village. This route leads you through riverbeds and hillsides in magnificent surroundings, en route you’ll encounter ancient ruins and wells.

Day 3 – Ruta Corasueño

Loop walk 14 km ★ 500 altimeters

Starting from our B&B, go and explore around our village Almogía and its surroundings, this route goes across gorgeous rock formations and sights. The winding paths go up and down towards the most beautiful locations in the area, you’ll be walking between olive and almond trees in a breathtaking environment.

Day 4 – Visit Málaga by bus

With a clear city map you can walk through this beautiful city. Visit the historic centre with churches and squares, the covered market, the cathedral, the Alcazaba, walk along the coastline of La Malagueta, or visit one of the many other beautiful sights that this city has to offer.

Day 5 – Ruta Espinar 8 Luka Mirador

Loop walk 11 km ★ 350 altimeters

Explore Llano del Espinar or the Espinar Valley with its many almond and olive trees that turn the hills beautifully green. The path first leads you down the valley before engaging the scorching climb towards the mirador. Once arrived at the top you’ll have a 360° view of the region, you’ll be able to spot the Mediterranean Sea, the Guadalhorce Valley and the breathtaking pueblo blanco of Almogía. On the road back you’ll be crossing through Almogía itself with plenty of narrow streets, an ancient watchtower, a monument or church here and there and a cosy village centre near the town hall.

Day 6 – Camino Mozarábe – Stage 3 Almogía – Villanueva de la Concepción

18,5 km ★ 650 altimeters

Walk along the pilgrimage route Santiago de Compostella from Almogía to Villanueva de la Concepción. Travel through the untouched nature and walk from one surprise to another as you’ll encounter beautiful sights of hills and mountain tops.

Day 7 – A day to relax

Give yourself and your legs a day of rest and enjoy a nice drink and a relaxing siesta on one of our (sunny) terraces!

Day 8 – Ruta Embalse Casasola

Loop walk 12 km ★ 300 altimeters

Start walking from our B&B towards the beautiful viewpoint El Mirador del Río Campanillas, from here it goes downhill to a little bridge across the river. You’ll be walking downstream alongside the riverbank until the Casasola reservoir. Once you’ve reached this point, backtrack 1 km and finish the route by climbing out of the valley via a beautiful road among the green nature.

Day 9 – Ruta Monte Cerro

Linear walk 14 km (7 km back & 7 km forth) ★ 450 altimeters

At first instance you’ll be walking among the almond trees, higher up the route the landscape changes to mainly cork oaks with beautiful panoramas at every turn. Eventually you’ll be going up a short goat path up towards the top of the Monte Cerro where, at 750 meters altitude, you’ll reach this hiking route’s ultimate reward, a phenomenal 360° view of our white Almogía village, the Guadalhorce Valley, the Mediterranean Sea and various high mountains.

Day 10 – Visit Málaga by bus

With a clear city map you can walk through this beautiful city. Visit the historic centre with churches and squares, the covered market, the cathedral, the Alcazaba, walk along the coastline of La Malagueta, or visit one of the many other beautiful sights that this city has to offer.

Day 11 – Hiking around the Casasola Reservoir

Loop walk 18 km ★ 400 altimeters

This beautiful but tough walk runs completely around the Casasola reservoir of Almogía and offers beautiful views of the sumptuous greenery & endless blue water and the surrounding mountains. Halfway through you can make a stop in a local bar for a snack and a drink.

Day 12 – Ruta Roca Almogía

Loop walk 8,5 km ★ 300 altimeters

Walk in the direction of our village and climb to Torre de la Vela, the old tower of the former castle of Almogía. From this beautiful vantage point you walk in an arc around Almogía and there is also the opportunity to stop in a local bar to strengthen your inner self. Then you walk back via the bicycle monument and the mirador with the heart.

Day 13 – Senda Litoral de Málaga

Linear walk at the coast line

Go and walk a part of the Senda Litoral de Málaga. This walking route of almost 200 km connects the coastal cities of the Costa del Sol from Estepona to Marbella and Málaga all the way to Rincón de la Victora, Torre del Mar and Nerja.

Day 14 – A day to relax

Give yourself and your legs a day of rest and enjoy a nice drink and a relaxing siesta on one of our (sunny) terraces!

Dag 15 – Unfortunately … the farewell

The holiday is over … Today you can sleep in and enjoy a last extensive breakfast before returning home. We wave you goodbye, take you to the airport and cherish the memories of your stay with us.
